I've wore glasses for about 2 years now, I use them for watching TV & driving. I have my yearly eye test on Saturday and want to buy some new glasses to replace my £30 pair!
I've always used Specsavers for everything eye related and found some decent Quicksilver glasses for £125. I think there maybe an offer to buy one pair get one free, but this is yet to be confirmed.

Anyway, is there any cheaper alternatives to Specsavers to buy glasses?

There are loads of places you can get them online once you've had your eye test.
Fill in the prescription details, select frames, tints etc and buy them online.
That is by far the cheapest way to get your glasses.

Boots

If you have a local Costco they do a good range of designer frames at a very good price. Even our local Asda have an instore Opticians with designer frames

I had a real bad experiece with Visionexpress so they get a -1 vote from me

Problem with online you can't see how the glasses look on yourself.

I only suit a certain style.

They let you "rent" the frames so that you can try a few on to see which suit.
If money is an issue then do take a deeper look at the online places.

A good online one I have used in the past is Designer Optics

Although they dont come with lenses etc you can buy the considerably cheaper off this company if you know where to look ;)

My last pair of Oakley spectacles including lenses came in at under £80.00 :D

Edit: They do now do prescription lenses

Thanks, any other online places?

Ideally I'd like some glasses around the £80 mark, I really liked the Quicksilver ones, if I could find them online for cheaper that would be great.

bazillions of them:

online spectacles

try www.speckyfoureyes.com too, just love the company name ;)

They also do a request a frame service so fill in the form and tell them exactly what frame you want and they'll quote you for it:

I want this frame in this colour and nothing else will do
