I use godaddy for domains mostly,

Regarding hosting, if you want a fast/responsive website don't ever buy the hosting from companies like godaddy/123/1and1 might seem great at £1 a month but it really isn't long-term.

HEG own a lot of hosting companies, including 123-reg and Paragon. Paragon has its own office, its own support team, its own board of directors, its own data centre, its own hosting platform and is in no way integrated with 123-reg.

Always buy your domain names from a different company than you use for web hosting.

If you ever have a problem with your web hosting company and you have your domain with them as well they can effectively blackmail you by threatening to remove your domain from you unless you comply with whatever they want.

I use Namecheap and Gandi for domain names and Linode and Digital Ocean for web hosting.
