Where would the best place/shop be to get a 02 24month contract mobile with either iphone 4 or Galaxy s2 or HTC top range phone be ??

Someone told me o2 official site usually has the best deals, someone else said carphone warehouse.

Is there somewhere else to go to that is renown for great deals ~?

Check out Mobiles.co.uk. and e2save.com. These are both owned by carphone warehouse and they do reasonable deals. I have personally bought from mobiles.co.uk and they have been very quick to deliver (next day) (I see the iphone 4s there for £31 a month on a 2 year contract on vodafone there) Another place would be the phones4u website. All these guys also give you sim-unlocked phones which can be used on any network.

These places generally tend to give better deals than the high street as well as the networks own website. Don't forget to get extra money off (this usually works) via cashback websites such as topcashback if ordering online. I managed to get £50 cashback by just following through the link on that site and ordering. Have a look around for a good deal on the phones you want.

While links are allowed, I don't think referrals are teddy. Realistically speaking it goes:

retentions offers (assuming you're a good customer)
3rd party online shops + cashback
Online shops from the network
Over the phone haggling
instore

I would always suggest going direct with network in my opinion, when I upgraded to iPhone 4s via CPW they put me on wrong tariff and didn't include the free O2-O2 minutes which it did for the first day
O2 didn't want to know and CPW said speak to O2 etc as they have nothing to do with tariffs etc
I returned the phone, went with o2 on the correct tariff and saved £5 a month!

Direct with O2 going through something like Quidco. It was the cheapest way you could purchase the Galaxy Note when I got it.

Shop about, deals change daily so its worth the extra time and effort.

I would either do it online or instore, I would never do it over the phone to people who ring you, they are dodgy and are on commission so push you towards phones that get them good money.
