hi everyone first post looking for some advice on possible upgrades I can make to my Pc system
I use my Pc for gaming on my monitor and vr and my simulator and looking at streaming in near future

My current Pc specs are
Alienware Area 51 r2
Intel i7 5820k
16gb ram
2tb hdd (games)
128gb ssd (o/s & programs )
1500w psu
Gtx 1080ti x2 sli

Monitor
Predator x34 (3440x1440)
100hz gsync

Would there be any benefit getting a bigger ssd for my games , also any benefit changing the ram for 32gb or even changing the ram for a different brand I was told I can run max 2400mhz any advice on any thing I can add to my Pc to future proof

Bigger SSD for games always nice. Faster game/level loading times. Faster loading of/teleporting to different maps in such games. Can help with microstutter issues in some instances.

More than 16GB RAM only if you see mem usage hitting max. You can use a monitoring program with sensor displays on taskbar/notification tray/onscreen, showing mem usage, cpu temp etc.

Really with that spec trolling much :p show off

Jokes aside maybe if you feel the drastic need to is a big ssd and double the ram but that system is more than powerful enough

Thanks for advise guys defo not trolling sorry if it comes across like that
I have noticed slight micro stutter now and again not a lot just on couple of games
Any recommendations for good ssd I was looking at Samsung pro
Thanks again

does stutter go away when you disable sli?

Thing is you don't need the very best quality/fastest SSD for games. Just needs decent read speeds which most do. Storage size is definitely more important with games getting progressively larger. Two 75GB games like GTA and Doom for example, plus another 50GB game, and it's 200GB already. And they sometimes get updates. So I'd get just get the largest normal SSD you can afford (if you play a lot of games). Something like a Crucial MX300 525/750GB/1.1TB, for example. Or Samsung 850 EVO.

It's mainly GTA it's very minimal normaly when flying
And to be honest I haven't tried it with sli disabled , I'll try and see if that stops it
Thanks

After fitting the ssd will my computer recognise it or will I need to go into bios to enable it
Only thing I've ever fitted to Pc is gpu's I'm such a nooob , and I was going to try build my son a Pc think I best leave that for a while lol

Was looking at 2tb ssd I'd really like the 4tb ssd but it's pricey suppose it could be removed to go in future PCs
I have the oculus unfortunately before this sale though
Cheers Vargas

Ok so I've made my mind up and gone for the following parts for my Pc

2tb Samsung 850 evo 2.5" ssd
32gb (4x8gb) Corsair ddr4 dominator platinum
Also decided to upgrade my stock fans with
Corsair sp120 pen high performance edition, high pressure fans

Now just to sit at the front door waiting
Thanks again for your recommendations
