Best powerline set for gaming?

Just fitted a basic 85Mb set in my parents' flat. There's something like eight WANs visible where my mother has her laptop and the signal from the router in my father's study is completely swamped. I bought an 'own brand' set from a competitor that's conveniently placed on my route, just plugged the units in as others have described and end of problems. One fewer thing for them to bother me about.....

i find the plugs (85Mb) to be okay if i run them on the same circuit (i.e. upstairs bedrooms) but when i use them between two floors the performance is shocking. i have my internet connection upstairs and the PS3 in the living room and i am unable to steam HD or large movies and file transfer rate is below 1Mb.

I wouldn't go for either of the ones sold on OCuk at the moment, the netgear ones are the best out of the two but the speed varies a lot. I put in a request to OCuk to stock the Devolo dLan 200 models as they were fantastic when I reviewed them last week.

I had a look at the Develo ones but I cannot find one with more than one ethernet port on the adapter. My Mum needs at least 2 ports as she has a VOIP phone that she needs plugged in for work.

What would you suggest?

hang a cheap switch offf the end or look for a make that does a version with a switch (at least one makes a 'piggy' with switch and multiple switched mains sockets)
