Hi everyone,

My parents are looking for a new machine. Can anyone recommend a the best prebuilt machine for £1500 please?

They are low end users but I'd to future proof a little. Having a reasonable CPU, 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD is crucial, dedicated graphics a nicety.

Many thanks

For a casual user I wouldn't be going anywhere near £1500. I certainly wouldn't be going for 32GB of DDR5 but I would go with a single 16GB stick with the view of adding another one later if needed.

If you go for a CPU with inbuilt graphics and you ensure the power supply is sufficient, you can always had a graphics card at a later date. I'd use on-board graphics for a casual user.

What are they going to be using the PC for?

could most likely get away with an ex office PC for far less if its just web browsing and YouTube or even a mini PC if you do not need a dedicated GPU and happy to use an on board 1.

What for? Do they game at all? What's the most demanding thing they do with the PC?

If this is just a basic desktop PC, then there's really no need. Integrated graphics in AMD 7000 or Intel 12th gen (or Core Ultra) onwards is fine for something like office use and iPlayer.

I'd look at a pre-built of the above CPU gens and see what the best value option is. RAM and SSDs are very expensive, even 32GB of DDR4 will cost you.

This would be way overkill, but ready for a high-end graphics card if needed. I chose a case with a solid top for water proofing.

My basket at OcUK:
Total: GBP1135.88 (includes delivery: GBP12.99)
