Best program to completely remove software

The uninstaller is the best way to uninstall a program. As above, programs like ccleaner can be overzealous and remove stuff incorrectly.

Are you having trouble removing something specific?

Used both revo or ccleaner and revo's usually pretty good. Although I do use ccleaner from time to time too. It all depends on how much you want to tinker with the os etc.

if you are updating a program and potentially need to back out from
that then creating a system restore point can be a good idea (eg. nvidia
control centre ) , but even if it is a new program then you can use a tool
that monitors the installation first and then knows how to reverse it.
I see revo has such a pay/pro (monitor install) product, I thought there were some similar free products, but could not find it.
I have use free revo/ccleaner too but they are not infallible

[for the nvidia stuff if the new version is not working in some way, without a
restore point will probably need to uninstall all versions of it, then boot in safe
mode to re-install earlier version]

... the 'windows' uninstaller is not provided by windows, but by the same developer that provided the program, so if badly designed (or malicious) it can leave garbage in the registry, context menu add ons, services, ... so the 'other' programs can using heuristics potentially tidy up, or , if they monitor the install see exactly what happens and reverse it.
