Best PSU option for this mini ITX case

http://www.lian-li.com/en/dt_portfolio/pc-q08/

What sort of spec are you putting into it to need such a large wattage?

Well, I was planning on the AMD A10-6800K Black Edition and the MSI GeForce GTX 760 . I dont really know if 750 is too much/ too little, but that seemed to be pretty mid range so i took a guess. please tell me if this is too much or too little :D.

EDIT: the graphics card is subject to change depending on budget nearer the time, as i will most likely but this separately.

An APU with a GTX760 is an odd choice, the main idea of an APU is that it can play games without a discrete card moderately well (as long as you dont crank the resolution and in game settings up too high).

Then a quality 500W+ PSU will power the lot without drama.

Yeah. Im 16 and can barely afford the thing as it is. My intention being I buy the APU, then as and when I can afford it get the GFX card. But i see exactly what your saying.

Even a 500W PSU would provide a nice amount of headroom. :)

Thanks.

Me and my friends are building identical computers. With me being the leader since (although from this thread you wouldn't know it) I know the most about computers etc.

we are planning on spending towards the lower end of £400-£500.

the only requirements are that it is in this case (Well, atleast a mini ITX case since all of us want to be able to move our PCs about to eachothers houses etc). And that it will run DayZ when it eventually comes out xD.

TBH we'll all be happy if we can run all the games we want at a steady 60fps on med-high graphics.

Any good?

*there is a A88X FM2+ version of that board coming sometime, this will hopefully give you support for the next generation of APU's called Kaveri as well as previous FM2 Trinity+Richland.

*maybe actually put a Seasonic/Antec 520W PSU in there?

hmmm. can i ask why you went for the smaller AMD processor? If i take out the CD drive (I have one) I can get the processor i was originally going for only upping the price by £5. If that makes sense.

Something to consider: Whilst the Prodigy and Phenom ITX's are a good price I wouldn't class them as ITX builds, as the mATX versions are the exact same size.

There's nothing wrong with them, they're lovely cases, I just don't think they're as portable as a proper ITX case, however, they are cheaper and you've got a budget to work to. Also if you went with the mATX version it would give you a larger and potentially slightly cheaper set of motherboards as well.

We've decided on the case i linked earlier and plan to stick to it. Stop suggesting cases! xD

I tried, but you might want to detach yourself from the case as its a little difficult to get a decent PC into that case with your budget, partly because the case itself is £85, and partly because it can only acommodate Mini-ITX (small) motherboards, which are generally more expensive than their larger equivelants, and there are also no variations which can accomodate CPU's which would be the best option for your budget.

Far more powerful system for gaming. You could put a blue LED fan in the front if you wanted to mimik the look of the smaller case. :)

What your saying makes a lot of sense, however the size is really important to me.
