Hi there,

I am just about to buy the version B of the Raspberry Pi and need to an SD card and USB stick.

Do you guys have any rcommendations for what is best?

Raspbmc has to boot off an SD card but then runs off the USB Stick once going.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for that - looks like a great buy to me.

What about a USB3.0 stick?

I know that the Pi is only USB2.0 but there are posts suggesting that using a USB3.0 stick with a USB2.0 sockets gives much better read times (but not writes).

I am therefore looking for a decent spec USB3.0 stick - I will be running Raspbmc off it so I assume that 16GB or 32GB will do.

Thanks

Hmm - I see that this is getting a little more complex than I anticipated.

Is anyone able to recommend a 16GB USB3.0 stick with decent 4k random read/writes please?

umm no ? Why not just use a 8/16 GB class ten. i dont have a usb stick raspbmc runs fine.

If you want a usb stick to play media files off, any good usb2 stick. its limited by usb ports on the pi.
