Hi all,
I'll keep this short - are there any remote support tools better than Logmein Rescue?

Looking at something to provide ad-hoc remote support to some clients - Logmein does the job, but want some views as to whether there is anything better on the market (with a similar feature-set).

Thing with VNC is that you need to open ports/setup a VPN. I need something that will go on port 80/443 so it won't need to punch through firewalls. The Logmein Rescue also has the facility to restart the remote pc and still keep the connection which is dead handy.

Well, VNC isn't the right option here. This is for providing ad-hoc support, so opening ports is a no no. Guess i'll stick with Logmein Rescue.

Opening ports where exactly, any remote control app you run will open a port on the workstation, just assign a port that is already allowed through the firewall/router.

Best one I've used so far is either SingleClick VNC (creates a reverse connection so your customers don't have to faff around with firewall settings) or Crossloop.

I agree with SingleClick VNC. I use it with my customers and it's idiot proof even if they're behind a router.

If it's aimed at customers then the logmein where people input a support code is great. You get them to go to a website enter a 6-digit number and job done. Absolute idiot proof.
