I've been with Trooli FTTP for a little while now, they've been great overall but officially never let you use your own router, and whilst their supplied one isn't terrible it's WiFi range is poorer compared to previous ones I've used (was using a BT home hub 2 on Plusnet and it was very good range wise). Recently they have changed their stance and allow you to use your own router as long as you understand they don't support it, which is fair enough, so thought I'd look at it again.
Can anyone recommend a router, ideally with some excellent WiFi range as at the moment the current router struggles to reach the edges of the house. As far as I am aware I can just use any router but though I'd ask in case someone else here used Trooli and had found any specific issues etc.
I have been looking at unifi APs for a while as another option but am trying to limit the amount of kit I have to keep powered up, less is more for me so if I can do it all with one box then it'd be nice...
