Looking for a sat nav. Looking to spend no more than £250. Obviously the cheaper the better.

No specific requirement. Larger than 3.5 inches, very accurate, quick to lock onto position, doesn't freeze and has a google places search built in so I don't need to know the address... just the name of the place.

Suppose I do have requirements!

I was looking at the TomTom Go Live range. However after looking at reviews. They are exactly a year old. I don't want to buy a satnav that's one year old, especially if a new model is due out. TT are claiming "new" next to there models on their site. So a little confused.

Any recommendations?

Cheers!

P.S. I like lane assist.

TomTom Go is an excellent satnav, cannot fault it to be honest, bought one several years ago and with updates it has remained very good.

Has the lane assist as well.

Also +1 for TomTom, get which ever model as the features you will use but its never led me wrong over the last 4-5 years ive been using the software on various platforms.

Hawker

TomTom for me too. Though i do get a bit wound up that i spent just over £100 for it, and a year later they are already badgering me for £40 to buy another years map updates!

Ive got a TomTom 120 Live with HD traffic and all that gubbins.

It is absolutely brilliant, and the route replanning has saved me hours in travel.

The rainforest are doing the go live 1000 for £193 and you can claim £50 cash back from Tom Tom, offer ends later this month (they send you a prepaid credit card after 28days) just updated it to the latest software via the website.

If you have an iPhone then maybe worth considering buying TomTom from the app store on there as you get free map updates.

This sounds very appealing. Will check it out.

Edit***

Appears it's a £50 fuel card. Rather than cash back. Am I reading it wrong or missed something? None the less if it is just fuel... It's still a great deal.

I'm concerned TomTom release a new model in January or Feb if I splash out on this. They seem to have been around for a while now.
