I was browsing through the gard drive benchmarking thread I saw that 2 x Barracudda 7200.11 in RAID 0 significantly outperformed 2 x Raptors in RAID 0.
The testing did not seem to take into account latency and I understand that the Raptors will spin up and deliver information more quickly, however, I am now unsure what the best solution for a fast system drive is.
I was going to add a second Raptor to my existing 74GB Raptor to create a RAID 0 System drive which I could run my games off too (Currently the run off a slow 300gb drive) I was going to do this as vista scored my hdd at 5.6 while everything else is 5.9.
Seeing the benchmarks makes me wonder if i am better off getting 2 x Barracudds's. Which drive would be best performance wise for normal use of vista and which would be best fro running games from?
