Best single card

After mulling several new monitor setups for Falcon bms I've decided to go with 3x 27"/24" 1080p's, after some research I've discovered the reason I can't get Xfire working with BMS is it doesn't support it, at all :/

Soooo, I am looking for the best single card I can get (no sli/xfire)
I could go Titan Black, or a good clocking Ti, but I'm not sure if vram will limit this option?

in total I will have.... 3x 24/27" 1080p, 1x 22" 1050p.
just those 4, what do you multi screen guys recommend?

It's a shame the 6GB 780Ti is being held back. I think NVIDIA know that having a really powerful card like that with no vram limitations would give little or no incentive to jump on the first round of Maxwell cards.

Can you clarify...you you are planning on gaming on 3x 1920x1080 res monitors (effectively 5760x1080)?

If that is the case, then there's nothing much faster worth the hassle and cost of upgrading from the 290x. If it doesn't support CF or SLI like you said, then I think you should just focus on overclocking your primary 290x to as high as possible (or see which of your 290x can clock the highest, and use it as the primary card).

Thanks for the replies folks, think I may give the 290x a go first then see how it goes.

There would be 3x 1080ps (5760x1080) yes, although I may add a 4th 2560x1080p for a top view later. and also a small screen for MFD's

Something like below..... (excuse the paint skills :) )

Like this guys, but obv newer monitors, BMS insn't demanding really so one 290 may be enough, I can but try :)

Best options would be,

Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan Black.

Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 Ti.

or

AMD Sapphire Radeon 290X Tri-X OC.

Nvidia GeForce GTX Titan Black has the same gaming performance as the 780TI, i can't believe people still recommend a card for gaming costing 200 - £300 more than one giving the same performance, and then not tell them that.

Its just a 780TI with DP unlocked and a fancy name.

He's going with multiple monitors, and the VRAM of the 780 ti would be a limiting factor.

Have you experimented with forcing AFR via CCC to get some crossfire perf?
I've had a play with theAF settings in CCC no joy :(

It gets to the load screen then flashes constantly, very odd
I can get it to load fine in full screen window, but the fps is actually 90ish, 25 lower than CF disabled :/

Title of thread 'Best single card'.

What is the honest answer? GTX Titan Black..

In your comparison to GTX 780 Ti, you forgot to mention the extra 3GB of vram. 6GB might just come in handy for someone running multiple screens or high res..

I also mentioned the GTX 780 Ti, and also the 290X, but you left that bit out of your quote obviously..

damn :(

Force AFR is helpful on the occasions it works.

Do you know if the sim uses the same engine as any other games/sims? As sometimes you can spoof the driver by changing the .exe names etc...

Could you give us some statistics of how it plays on your current system (presuming 290X?) i.e. FPS and Vram usage at x settings?

That setup looks out of this ******* world btw!!

Currently I'm using a single monitor 1440p@120hz max settings, AB hovers around 115-160ish depending on the eye candy going on.
vram use is around 1300mb so not huge, but maybe enough to fill up a 3gb card with 3/4 monitors.

as for other games using it im not sure, its based on the old Falcon 4.0

This flashing.. Have you overclocked your GPUs? did AMD ever fix the overclock/flashing image on more than one screen issue I used to have with my 5770s?

If only 1300mb over 1440p, at a guess 3 x 1080 would put it around 2-2.5GB roughly, I think a 3GB card would cut it but 4GB would give breathing room.

I think you'd be looking at an easy 100+ fps over 3 monitors too with a single top tier card.

Try using 1x1 Optimize instead.

What is the name of the game?
