Confused about what tube to buy, should i bother getting the expensive £17 EK tube or just get the cheap ones like mayhems

Going to be using zmt when I rebuild my rig.
Had clear or some kind of coloured transparent tube for the last 20 odd years, so time for a change and all black is not something I’ve done before.

Always went with Mayhems once I tried it when I was on custom loop setups, cheaper, lasted longer and had no issues with discoloration.

^Same here plus it doesn't leach and there's really no reason to pay any more. Using Mayhems X1 coolant I have never had Mayhems tubing discolour.

Same, using Mayhems for years and it's probably been 3+ years since I last drained my loop and still no discolouration in the Ultra Clear. Will be using those for my son's first PC as well in near future.

Mayhems if you want clear, EPDM tube if you want to just leave it. EK's ZMT is probably easiest to get hold of, but Alphacool and Watercool also do 13/10 EPDM. You can, of course, get EPDM tube anywhere, but it's tricky to find PC watercooling sizes and also without external markings.

+1 for EPDM. It's a fifth of the price of EK's ZMT and just as much a pain to fit. Found matte black with no markings on that auction site, sent as one length.

Also highly recommend the following:
Tsunoda PL-200SC-S PLA-iers Replaceable Soft Resin Jaw Pliers
and
Whistling Dixie PPE Gloves-Site Gloves-PU Coated Cut Resistant Gloves

I found they made screwing the fittings on far, far easier, without tearing your fingers to shreds or stripping the paint off the fitting.

Anyone using XSPC LFX tubing? I've got some ready for my next rebuild but as I'll probably leave it several years without changing anything, I'd change to mayhems if the XSPC is likely to cause problems

I always got leeching and blocks clogged with plasticiser when I used XSPC tubing. Once I switched to Mayhems I had no more problems.

I've always used XSPC half inche tubing in the past, never had any issues with it. Now been using Mayhems tubing for about 6 months. Not really noticed any differences tbh

Yea for me ZMT is great. Guna check what my stuff is like when I stick my new radiator in. See if there is residue or leaching or whatever on the blocks.
