Best software for testing performance??

What software would you recommend to thoroughly test your system?

For example: - CPU speed test, Graphics test, memory test, Hard drive test, DVD test & temps.

I'd like to know about one too please. I've used 3dmark but that only tests the graphics card afaik.

Nah there's a CPU bit too.

In the past I've used seperate apps for different things as they tend to be the best, but a good all rounder is SiSoft Sandra from my experience.

Will 3D Marks actually test all 4 cores of a quad core processor & tell you what speed each core is running at or does it just give you a score?

Erm not sure, the latest one I've used was 05, and that just gave you a performance mark and your CPU specs.

a good all rounder is SiSoft Sandra from my experience

As well as SISoftware Sandra, Everest Ultimate and PC Wizard has a number of different benching utilities.

SiSoft Sandra is the best for measuring CPU/Mem/subsystem performance.
HDTach for Hard Drives.
Nero DriveSpeed for Optical Drives.
Games for Graphics.
Your favourite music player for audio.

Imo.
