I was tidying up a desk draw and i found an old 40gb IDE HD that for some reason i had stuck in there a few years back.
I cant recal why i put it there in the first place, the only reason i could think of was it was damaged.
Anyway cut a long story short, ive plugged her in fast formated it, whats the best FREE tool i can use to test it for bad sectors or damage?
Anything other than XP chkdisk that can do it, id prefer if it had a graphical representation but anything else will do fine
