What would you need a mic input for? If you want to record stuff, you are much better off putting the mic thru a mixer then to line in.

Ahh, gotcha... I thought you might be record some of yer own metal or something. :o

Audigy 4 should be fine... Unless you are using SACD's or something, I'd stick with the audigy. They're not as good as M-audio cards, but have all the little extras like mic input and EAX.

Thanks Mate. i may as well stick with my Audigy 4 then if im not going to get much better sound with another card
:)

wish i could but i don't have any spare pci slots for two cards . maybe the only way around it is to get hold of a USB mic . whats the problem with M-Audio cards and vista ? is it just a driver problem that might be put right in the future .

No drivers, and probably never be released. Got a M-Audio Revolution 5.1, wouldn't mind trying out Vista MCE.

i see .so if i where to get a M-Audio Audiophile 192 its only good for windows xp  i was thinking about moving over to vista as well .

Hi
just been looking at the M-Audio Revolution 5.1 and i see that card does have a mic socket on it .so is the M-Audio Revolution 5.1 better than the X-Fi Xtreme Music card. they both seem to cost around the same at about £50
