Best speakers/amp for music circa £500

Thanks for all the replies guys, for sake of simplicity and peace of mind with warranty etc for the speakers I'm going to go with Jason's original list as I can get most of it from one place (gear4music),

Just remembered, when you order speak to them on the phone. Ask for the serial numbers on each speaker to be as close as possible. The reason being speakers of the same model can sound different due to when they are manufactured, they can also be manufactured in different parts of the world. In a perfect world you want the serial numbers to be consecutive. Just phone Gear4Music and ask how close the serial numbers are on them.

Adam T7V £145 * 2, £290
Gear4Music desk stands £29
AcouFoam (isolation foam) £23
SMSL d0100 (XLR DAC) - £167
Van Damme XLR cables - £30 for pair of 2.5 meter from the bay.

If setup correctly, above would sound very good.

Had some financial setbacks but have finally got the money together for this, is the SMSL d100 still the best way to go? Looks like £150 on Amazon via third party seller or d100 pro for £209 but don't think I need the hdmi arc so will likely stick with the cheaper option unless anyone's got a better option for a DAC? SMSL seem to have a million different models and for the life of me I can't figure out much difference bar the price!

I've never heard either of these, however have listened to the high end SMSL DAC's at shows and there very good.

I had a look between the DO100 and DO100 Pro. The Pro has better audio quality, lower THD and higher signal to noise. Personally if you can afford I would go with the Pro version.
