Best Split-screen / Single-screen local multiplayer games of all time? (Any console)

Hi,

After playing 3 player Goldeneye 64 for 3 hours straight yesterday afternoon it's got me in the mood for some more local multiplayer.

We're going to try Perfect Dark and Timesplitters 2, and we already play Mario Kart and Smash bros.

Any other suggestions?

Borderlands to come with 4 player splitscreen, probably Co-op gaming rather than PvP, but maybe a good potential current gen winner.

TS2 every time, lost hours of my degree to that game. I need to dig that gamecube out, smash bros and more mario kart!

Mario Kart 64 was great though.

Aside from those already mentioned, some others we used to love "back in the day"...

Super Bomberman. 2, preferably, but 3 was good too.
Micro Machines - the 16-bit ones.
International track and field (PS1)

By the way, does everyone here play Goldeneye with the same rule set?

Those being:
- Pistols
- Licence to kill
- no OddJob

Gears of War was a great co op game.

Contra on the Snes was awesome as well along with Super SWIV

The donkey Kong series was always good for 2 player Co op

But goldeneye, timesplitters2 and any wrestling game where always favourites between me and my brothers

Conflict desert storm was pretty good imo ....but that was mission based

according to my kids, minecraft is the best split screen game.
