Best SSD for OS

As the title says, but also the cheapest for the perfomance.

I wont be buying until towards christmas time, so have time to wait for research on subject and also for the prices to fall / performances to increase.

Have a budget of around £130 to spend on this as will be changing most of the kit in my current rig (mobo/cooler/psu/gfx/memory)

I will be keeping my current HDD too.

Vertex for the win

It probably isn't bang per buck, but then I'd hope you realise which is the best from that point of view will be completely different at christmas to what is the best now

New Crucial drives are the best Bang4Buck SSD's.

The Vertex is just about obsolete, for £30 more i could get a bigger capacity intel drive, that performs way better.

I do agree about the christmas comment, by the end of the year/ beginning of next we should have Faster/Cheaper drives.

Frankly speaking, if you have until Christmas to decide, then it's too early to start looking. By then I'm sure newer SSD's will be out that would accomodate Windows 7 and take advantage of it's features better.

At this moment in time, however, I would go with either the Crucial M225 (bang per buck), Intel X25-M (Cost more but better performance).

But its always good to keep up with whats being released.
