Hey guys,

I'm looking into an SSD to store WoW on, it is very data heavy game, as in, it is constantly loading textures and environments from HDD due to the size of the game, It's currently sitting on an old WD spinner nicked from a laptop, but the load screen times take the ****, even with the rest of my rig being nice, can someone recommend best value for money SSD to give my gaming some more oomph :)

Ok, I'll try keep it cheap, will max read speed show much impact for WoW loading screens? I'm not too up on SSD technology, is it just read/write speed? What are the other factors to look at? I know there's IOPS or whatever but I'll admit, I don't really know what they are XD can someone be so kind as to educate me, I'd love to know :)

using a 250gb Samsung 840 to run my wow off of and it runs like a charm even considering my sata is only allowing the drive to work at half speed. Loading screen is only visible for about 1-2 secs

Hi
I wouldn't go with a 64Gb personally although the price this week for the M4 is good. Could you find a little more cash and go for a 120Gb Vertex to run both OS and Wow folder? (I would try to find more still for a Crucial M4 or Samsung)
How large is your WoW folder 25Gb? Have you considered and could you squeeze installing your OS and Wow on the current SSD? (ensuring that you would still have some free disk space)
Then maybe buy a decent hard disk for other data.

i agree on the 64gb version of the m4,it has poor read/write speeds compared to the 128gb version

the corsair force gt 60gb is a good choice if you only want 60gb but for not much more money your better of going for a 128gb and having double the space
