Hi all,

Very nooby question but I'm just not sure on what SSD card to get, and what SSD I can run.

My MoBo is

I am looking to upgrade to a 1TB SSD drive. I see it supports M.2 and PCIe and I think I can therefore go for one of these and not 2.5" (which I currently have, but which I believe is inferior?)

However, I don't really have any clue as to which of these would be better and why...also want to check 100% I can use these with current MoBo.

Any advice is very much appreciated!

With M.2 you can connect SATA or NVMe drives.

M.2 SATA drives are no faster than normal cabled SATA drives. M.2 NVMe drives can be substantially faster, but most of the time it’s difficult to notice the difference.

In your post you have one of each type selected.

Thanks Bremen. So I think for the price difference this would be worth a punt:

This would connect through the MoBo PCIe 3.0? Sorry, I really don't know much about this stuff :)

From the Mobo link to Asus, it goes in slot #12.

Thank you. Did some more reading and figured it out. Went for the WD SD750 1TB in the end...Seemed worth it.

That's QLC Flash drive.
It should be clearly lower priced than TLC Flash drive like WD blue SN550.
Just for comparison in long continuous writes it would actually slow down to worser speed than that SATA WD Blue 3D.
