Best Teeth Whitening Toothpaste

My Colgate extra whitening toothpaste ran out, so I'm gonna go to boots tomorrow, and I was wondering what toothpaste is best for whitening? I don't want Crest Whitening strips or anything like that btw, just something that will gently make my teeth whiter every day.

Also, does Pearl Drops Hollywood Smile actually work? My teeth are pretty white, and I read that people with already pretty white teeth don't see much results from using it...

In every review ive seen (mens health etc) Macleans whitening comes out top.

It's all i use and i smoke and drink a lot of coffee and ive got a cracking set of pearlys :D
 
They are most likely pretty similar - the UK is a lot stricter on this sort of thing so all whitening products over here are pretty weak and the effect is probably minimal.
If you really want white teeth you'd probably be better off going to see the dentist to get them whitened then avoid coffee etc.. (Also without wanting to cause this to turn into a medical thread - I don't think teeth whitening is particularly healthy tbh...)

no, blanx was the first whitening product i ever used. honeslty i was suprised that it worked at all. i assumed i just threw 8 quid down the drain when i bought it.

2 weeks of regular brushing with blanx and my teeth were very nice indeed, i was happy with it.:)
 
I use crest white strips. I know it wasnt what your asking for, but my teeth are nearly as white as simon cowell heh
 
You could try carbon peroxide based bleech perhaps. I assume it would work and be very safe providing it doesn't get on your gums enough. 36% is common along users. They are often sold in syringes, quite cheaply too. Most now ship with UV lights which are believed to increase the results.

Not a fan of Pearl Drops but they are sold very cheaply in a lot of stores often you find them going for £1 or less if you look.

BiCarb of soda whitens teeth a little, good if used as a toothpaste subsitute.

As too Blanx, they were giving them away free awhile back, you goto thier site and email/phone challengeasking about the 30-day challenge and they give you a sample worth £6.99, I think you huv'ta send in a picture of your teeth though.

I hear good news about Crest White Strips, but they are stupidly priced IMO, worth a look.

As a quick tip: try brushing your teeth 4 times a day (after breakfast, dinner tea and before bed) AND after everytime you consume sugar/acid foods (cola is one and so are sweets) acid burns away enamel like fire to meths. Red wine, coffee are others.

Spec a new tooth brush perhaps?

Just checked out some reviews of it. All positive.

One thing I noticed when looking at reviews was that apparently Janina is the only one that isn't stain removal, as it contains hydrogen peroxide which actually whitens teeth. Anyone confirm this?

Edit: I'll check up on this thread in the morning. Going to bed now.

Colgate Total Professsional Weekly Clean is the only one I've tried that's actually worked. I'd recommend it.

Hydrogen Peroxide does whiten teeth, it's also a anti septic, you could get a bottle of it and use it as mouthwash although I've never done it.

You could use an alcoholic drink (whisky, vodka) as a mouth wash also, it'll kill germs and such - but do this before brushing.

Salt works too, alittle like Carbon Peroxide. It'll wear down your teeth, removing stained layers ... if you've got bad enamel then don't do it or try ProNamel by Sensodyne, not sure how good it is though ... reviews seem okay.

What order are you supposed to do your teeth routine if you are flossing and using mouthwash? Never actually known... Always done brushing flossing then mouthwash.

What you are doing is fine. Brushing removes most plaque and bits from your teeth. Flossing removes such from in between your teeth and mouthwash will kill germs.
