Best temp monitor?

What do you think the best temperature monitoring software is for CPU components?

I thought Intel TAT was a gimme, but been hearing some evidence that suggests it may not be ideal....(adds an extra 10c under abnormal load?)

TAT and core temp give the most accurate cpu temps imo. The 'abnormal load' that was suggested is the stress test that stresses the cpu to the maximum, more so than when the cpu is under the 'usual' 100%. How this is possible to stress greater than 100% only intel would know.

everest for overall

everest reports the cpu temp the same as tat, and everything else seems spot on to

so i use everest to see every temp accuratly

That's great - thanks for all your input

Isn't Everest "discontinued" now?

I know people will still have old copies, and I'm sure previous versions are still available online....

The home version is, but the ultimate edition is still being made and you can download a 30 day trial...

Messiah, those negative temps must be screwing up the TAT and coretemp readings.

Possibly, but ive seen negative temps in Core before(My last CPU even showed a negative temp in core correctly.) Ive just done a huge upgrade (Mobo, ram, cpu and gpu) and ive yet to reinstall windows. So all I can think it being, is fragments of the old chipset drivers etc messing things up.

My core temp and TAT temps vary hugely! TAT is around 15-20 degrees higher than core temp

I was happy with my clock until i loaded up TAT and saw it saying my temps are reading just under 60c full load, coretemp and the bios say around 45... which should i trust?

Rivatuner with the C2D plugin. 2C off at idle but spot on underload, only issue is it reads the case ambient temp from a sensor somewhere on the GPU card so run a hotter card and you automatically get a higher ambient temp.

Download everest and buy a logitech G15 keyboard.

The LCD on the G15 stays on with the temps when you crash to blue screen of death too!!

I have had no problems with any of the programs i use, tat, speedfan, core temp and everest. I think i use tat the most.

Best way is to have no bsod though, haven't had one for over 4 months now i think :) .

But yes everest is good, handy for collecting info about pc too.
