Best Theme in a Game EVER??

Just a spin on the Bond theme but what a spin it is.

When you heard this music, you knew it was showdown time with Alec.

With Half Life being released on PC around the same-ish time, my FPS needs were covered to say the least.
Nobody could have guessed that Half Life would play an important part in keeping Goldeneye alive through mods :)

I do like a bit of boss theme. I think Sonic 1's in particular does everything right - completely ominous, builds tension well and definitely fits the 'mechanical' theme of the boss battles in that game. Although it is a bit short.

Got to love a bit of Vamo Alla Flamenco.

And more recently, Team Plasma's theme. I'd intentionally run into these guys just to listen to the theme (dat chord progression @ 1:26)

I could go on to be honest. Video game music is such a broad "genre" and usually features really powerful melodies, and I love that.

Edit: Oh god and I forgot Guilty Gear. How could I? Those games probably have the best soundtracks ever.
Holy Orders (Be Just or Be Dead)!

Cradle was a good theme but dont forget silo :D

Hadn't forgotten about Silo, lets face it, after another quick look on youtube, all the music for each level is top notch.

Loved that Surface level, music just fitted the level

Streets of rage boss fight. The music in that game was ahead of its time.

Has to be my own personal fave from SOR.

Konami were the kings of consoles back in the day. Contra 3 is still a joy to play today. And a rock hard game to boot too.

I remember when i 1st heard that music coming out of my snes, Predator was and still is one of my fave films of all time. I had such a big smile on my face :)

OP fails, "encounter" is not mgs' theme song. My favourite themes are probably from Zone of the Enders 2 and Metal Gear solid 2, also "melodies of life" from FF9.
