best thermal paste

i used the one that come with my coolermater seidon 120mm cooler.

seems pretty good., ill get the details of it later for you and let you know.

If you are water cooling just be aware that the thermal paste you are using is not conductive. other wise if you have a leak on the motherboard near the cpu it could go pop.

I currently use

IC Diamond 24-Carat Thermal Compound

- Non capacitive or electrically conductive

Of course if you don't water cool, you wouldn't have to worry about it.

I have always used mx-4, anyone recommend anything diffrent as overclockers seem to be out of this paste
I'm the same mate I've always used MX-4 as well, never had any problems with it and it's always given great results. I'm a firm believer in stick with what you know, if it works why change it ;)

I use Thermalright Chill Factor 3, given the choice. It doesn't make a huge amount of difference though between any of the 'top' pastes.

I use some Akasa thermal paste I bought Donkeys ago, had not reason to changed. Dropped my temps by 5c compared to the stock paste that came with my Corsair H80 cooler which was supposed to be good stuff.

I personally think the best stuff ATM (apart from the weird metal stuff) is Gelid X-treme. Always does well in tests even though really the results are all very close.

Also very good stuff. Used it when I fitted my Gelid Icy Vision cooler on my GTX470 and temps dropped dramatically. Very good stuff.

I use Prolimatech PK Nano on my 3770k, keeps my temps in check with my air cooler (also made by prolimatech :P)

i use mx-4 at the mo but used to use gelid extreme and to be honest there is very little between them. so just get either one of those which is at the best price.

mx-2, mx-4 and Gelid Xtreme is what ive used. Application of paste depends on the pastes viscosity imo and spreading can be more effective than blobbing if you have an annoyingly stiff paste.
