Hey guys, ever since I was a kid in 1999 (8 or 9 years old I was) I have LOVED Unreal Tournament with a passion. I never really got interested in the story games like Unreal/Unreal 2, but the ones where you just drop in, shoot the bejeezus out of everything and explode, I adore it.

but anyway, several unreals down the line i just wondered what is everyones favourite.

Unreal (including Na Pali pack)
Unreal Tournament
Unreal 2
Unreal Tournament 2003
Unreal Tournament 2004
Unreal Tournament 3

Any others you can think of?

Although I love the graphics and look of UT3, I think UT2004 is the best for online multiplayer with the mod-able maps and everything is just customisable sweetness.
But then I open up the 12-year-old Unreal Tournament and I just realise that it all stemmed from this, this was the ground breaker that so many games today are built on, from or otherwise have taken inspiration from in some way.

I sound like an Unreal geek, I'm really not, but it's probably my favourite game to play when I get time for PC games, I just thought it would be fun to discuss!

Ut was my game, played in clans and went to Isomania lan parties. I did also play ut2003\4 but I always went back ut.
 
One summer a few years ago me and my friends used to go to this local cyber cafe and play the UT2004 demo for hours. We played 2 gamemodes on 3 maps or something the whole summer. Amazing game!

This was before I had my own PC.
 
Not going to say the early ones purely because it's old school, I prefer and still play 2004 now and again.
 
Unreal: Return to Na Pali wasn't a game in its own right, it was essentially just a map pack.

UT > Unreal > Unreal 2

2003/2004 just felt like really clunky console games, can't understand how people liked them really. UT3 wasn't bad, but it could have been better.
 
Yep you're right there Deific thanks. UT3 definitely could have been better...however for me it was the gorgeous visuals we'd been waiting for from unreal, topped it off nicely.
UT was still the most free though... made you feel ace
 
I CANT GET MY UT2004 TO LOOK GOOD on my big screen :'(
have a 1920x1080 LG LED 23" thing and ut2004 looks all blocky and rough, i change the ati catalyst settings and it smooths out a lot but i dont want to have to keep doing that all the time..
maybe i have to
 
Spent most hours on UT2004. Loved that game. Competed quite a bit with divine in both 6on6 ONS and 4on4 TDM, had some great times and even won some money!. Winning competitions at iseries and playing the USA number 1 ONS team in an exhibition match on UT TV were the highlights for me.

Still go back to it on occasion but I never got into TAM and that's all people seem to play these days. It was the main reason I got bored too.

Bring back the glory days of the Jolt ONS cups!
 
Unreal Tournament.

Played in Eurocup CTF III I think which was 2001. You and your team playing agaisnt the creme of Europe. I was honoured to be apart of it and sorely miss those days.

I really liked UT 2004 though. Wasn't very popular with the UT community but if you can master the movement, the average joe will never ever hit you :)
 
I loved Unreal 1 (and even the expansion pack!) the most. UT and UT2004 seem technically great but I just don't feel any love for them for some reason.
 
holy hell! brings back memories! Unreal 2 + Unreal Tournament 2003 for me but maybe 2004 was my all time favs! Hmm come next pay might buy the collection off Steam!
