Found this thread via a search for my mobo....I'm also into a lot of vid encoding now, and looking to speed up my BluRay -> mkv conversions....
I've currently got the E6750 - unclocked atm, coz my old ram went bang, so I got some generic ram as a stop-gap coz funds were tight, and couldn't be bothered trying to strangle the most out of the ram to get it stable.
I've just started thinking about taking my board to the max cpu it can take to improve on the encoding I'm getting now, without changing the board and all...
I'm thinking of a quad core cpu and 8gig of ddr2 ram (off-set by selling my current E6750 and 4gig of bog-standard ram)
My question is though...will I see a noticable difference going to a Q6600 or similar? Also is the cooler I've got now OK for the quad if I change?
Thanks for any help/advice....
