Just thinking about my PC this morning and abit worried about falling behind and having to fork out a fortune when my machine is fully outdated. I am after some sound advise about the best upgrade route at this moment in time, that would be somewhat future proof for the next year or so.

My current set-up is;

Asus Crosshair III, AMD 965 BE @ 3.4, 4GB Corsair Dominator, Xfire 5870's.

Please be brutally honest if you think ill be ok for a while at least.

Thanks in advance.

That shouldn't need upgrading for a long time yet.

Wait for the new 9** series motherboards and then you can go AMD Bulldozer.

Not for a gaming PC, if you do other tasks like Video editing a lot, then 8GB will help.

I agree with the others. Its fine for now and doubt there will be much to push it for a while, I doubt its struggling is it? Upgrade when it needs it. Like in a year and it isnt running a new game, upgrade then...

Maybe an SSD?

No need, current ASUS boards will take AM3+ after a BIOS flash.

Actually, is this classed as current? :o

Depends on the chipset actually!!!!

only the 890 chipsets will work:p the crosshair III is too old.

and its still unofficially support.
