Best Uplifting/Happy Music

Trust me, when your computer is providing the music for a rather messy houseparty with more than 20 people, and after some hard house track, that S Club 7 track comes on due to the shuffle, you'll understand, rofl! :D

I've never seen a bunch of people looke more confused in my life :p

Haha! :p

If you ever make it big krooton you have to promise me that you'll at some point in your career drop that track in front of hundreds/thousands of people :D

I'd go for The Polyphonic Spree for a bit of insta-pick-me-up, but there are plenty of less happy-happy artists that I find uplifting. They've got a new album coming out in July, which bodes well for them touring over here - I've rarely enjoyed myself at a gig as much as seeing the Spree.

It's the Sun, 'Have a Day, Celebratory', Soldier Girl and Two Thousand Places are all cracking tunes for raising your spirits.

Augmented, you git!! i was just about to say The Polyphonic Spree. they're awesome for happy music!

i also like to chuck on Less Than Jake, Blink182, The Offspring and Green Day. it reminds me of when i was 13 :)

I keep meaning to listen to some Polyphonic Spree [...] but I keep forgetting. I like what I've heard so far, so I'm hoping they won't let me down.
I'm sure they won't. Definitely get The Polyphonic Spree's debut (The Beginning Stages of...) first; and make sure to get the re-released version. Partly because it features an edited version of the unnecessarily long, and out-of-place, final track but also some excellent alternate version of some of their best tracks. Particularly the live version of It's the Sun. Then get the second album, as it completes the twenty track collection ("Section 1" to "Section 20"). While not as strong as the first, it's still a very good release.

I'll just name some tunes but the albums from whence they came pretty much fit the bill too.

Beastie Boys - Girls. Unrefined, adolescent, flick-the-V hip hop.
Herbaliser - Worldwide Connected. Very unusual hook and almost military in it's rousing rhythm.
De La Soul - The magic number.

My brother has already said that I have to drop some crappy bootleg I made back in 2000, BK vs Christina Aguilera - All I Want Is Music For The People :D

I'll pm you on TA Grrrrrr ;)

New Order - Regret
Oasis - Cum on Feel the Noize
Bruce Springsteen - Born in the USA
Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone
The Stone Roses - Waterfall
Billy Ocean - When the Going Gets Tough
Huey Lewis & The News - Power of Love
Madonna - Into the Groove (quite possibly the funkiest tune ever written)
Orbital - Halcyon & On & On (quite a mellow number, proves you don't need a lot of volume or BPM to be uplifting)

Ben Folds five, apart from a song called brick, lol. Again, Mr Scruff, try the fish song.

Download this and listen a few times, will cheer anyone up to no end - Ben Folds Five -One Angry Dwarf and Two Hundred Solemn Faces.

Drum N' Bass works quite well, try anything by Pendulum.
