Best use of dual monitors?

I have a spare monitor here and just wondering how and why people are using dual monitors?

One for outlook one for application/browser?
One for code one for application/browser?
One for TV/video one for application/browser?

I've used dual monitors for over 10 years, would never go back. Currently using a 20" WS TFT and 21" 4:3 Sony CRT. Best of both worlds for text/photo/video work.

I use it to monitor temps when gaming also its handy to have instructions on one whilst following on the other or just comparing ,reading different sites .

I currently use one for outlook/mp3/video (19") and one for browser/games/coding (24" ws)

I use 3 monitors and generally this is what they get used for:

Music production (all 3, various things across all monitors)
Thunderbird/Firefox/Media Player & Msn
Game/Msn & Firefox/DVD
Multiple documents on all screens - really handy for essays!
Porn/Porn/Porn (you can be awesome and get 4 videos tiled on each screen if your PC can handle it).. lmao.

Edit:

Generally if you don't think you NEED dual monitors, the taking up the space probably won't be worth it, but they are very handy to have indeed.

3d environment/modeling on monitor 1, Photoshop on monitor 2 so I can work on textures and see their application at the same time.

i have them for reading summat whilst im writing something else, so either browser 1 work other or work 1 other work on 2nd.
when gaming i have game on 1 and vent and music on other so i can see who joins vent etc without the annoying noises.

At work I have email/helpdesk on one screen, and MSN/Firefox on the other.

Secondary monitor (where MSN/FF is) is also attached to whatever other machine I'm working on in the office, so if it needs to be, I can flick the input to that

Has anyone issues with crashing due to dual video, Vista 64 keeps saying display device driver crashed (or something along that line) and WinXP32 just locks up (but the sound keeps going.)

i bought a new 19" ws, and also had a 17" crt, after a while i didnt use 2 monitors at all and my desk looks a lot smarter without the big fatty, my one 19" ws does the job now

I went to a triple monitor set up around a year ago, for the sole purpose of gaming. However, when you have more than one monitor whilst using desktop app's, you just find things to have on there. They just become so handy, just for anything really, you can just slide something out of the way rather than minimising it (Not that minimising is a real chore )
