Best Username for Your Professional Email of Your Own Domain Name (e.g. [email protected]

and any business with a firstname/lastname email address seems like a one man band run by an amateur out of his bedroom.

Not professional like the op seems to think

Depends on the business. Pretty much every freelancer involved in film, TV, media creation etc. will trade using their own name.

I have [email protected] :D

You could (with a bit of luck) be creative and do something like:
[email protected]

Potentially not great to read out to someone over the phone, or tell someone what it is though, depending on your name.

Also, it's not unprofessional just to have something like [email protected] or [email protected]. Gmail isn't looked down on like Hotmail is/was.

For a business, your own domain is a must though IMO. Seeing these vans or trucks running about with @yahoo.com on the back is embarrassing :p

I own surname.eu, so I'm [email protected] which whilst I admit is not co.uk, uk or com is still nice and easy to remember for people and I usually get a comment when I mention it.
I'll never own surname.co.uk or .com as they are businesses in the UK and US, so will never drop unfortunately.
I do still hold surname.info, but I'll probably let that drop and I've also got surname.org.uk, but again not really as short and sharp as the .eu

I own:

lastname.com
lastname.co.uk
lastname.me
firstnamelastname.com
firstnamelastname.co.uk
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]

I normally use [email protected] (because of my surname it rolls off the tounge) but Christ if it's not annoying trying to tell someone that's computer illiterate that email.

"My email is [email protected]"
"Ok, [email protected]@gmail.com?"
"No JUST [email protected]"
"Ok, so [email protected]... @gmail?
"...sigh... Yes, fine, [email protected] - that works too"

To answer the question directly, for my firstnamelastname.com and .co.uk domains I use me@ for the email on it.

I ask this as having first [email protected] doesn't really make sense as you have your first name twice.

it isn't that bad IMO

either of those two would work IMO

In the perfect world you would own [email protected] but near on impossible as all are registered.

have you tried surname.xyz or another domain I managed to bag my surname.xyz a few months ago and it isn't an uncommon surname + is used by a few companies

I've got the option of [email protected] or [email protected]

@facebook.com landed me a decent job.

& Also, they could do a background check I guess, and see my graphics design of my banner picture thing at the top etc. win win.
