Hey guys.

Got an E4300 that is one heck of a hot chip, running 45deg idle and 62deg load when undervolted to 1.1v at a mild 200mhz overclock

I've reapplied thermal paste and the like, checked the cooler is on etc, and it seems perfect, maybe the IHS is concave or something...

So I'm looking for a new cooler, something that is good value and WILL reduce my temps by a reasonable amount without breaking the bank.. Would prefer something I don't need to rip the mobo out for as well.

EDIT: down to 59 load @2.1ghz undervolted further to 1.075v.... I wonder how low this chip can go :D

Cheers

very good cooling
very good price £17
no need to remove mb to install bracket

its way better then a stock cooler, there re some other coolers that woul knock a further degree or two off butthese are double the price and may need mountain brckets installed.

i have one of these on my c2d e6700 at 3.3ghz and it idles about 40 (35 not in summer ) and never seen it above 55. it could get it cooler but i only run the fan at 50% speed so as to lower noise. oh and comes with thermal paste pre aplied which i use some clean i off and use there own fav brand

If you're willing to risk the chip you could remove the IHS. I don't believe the e4300 range are soldered onto the die. Is dangerous for your chip though and you have to do a bit of hacking on the mobo socket so you loose warrenty for both.

Otherwise consider a tuniq tower, thermalright ultra extreme, titan amada or nocta 12u thingy.
