If you go back to my original post, I was talking about specifically when the frame rate dip to much lower than usual. I'm not here arguing that 7970 will not give higher fps than 6970 at places that are not CPU limited.if it was cpu bottleneck, my gpu would have the same fps as my old 6950. infact, i get about 30fps more with the 7970. like i said, it scales well.
The reason why people can't get a solid 60fps is not that 7970 is incapable of that, but more about no current CPU available can hold solid 60fps due to the game don't take advantage of multi-core. If at a place/scene which the frame rate take a sharp drop and GPU usage take huge dip from 99% down to 60% or something like that, that's the CPU not keeping up with the graphic card...it is that simple.
