Best Value Intel CPU at present?

Not the case with VR. Especially Fallout 4 and Skyrim as I've encountered.

I'm into VR just now and run a 1950x. No problems or low framerate to report.

It's different now because in the past AMD's best would struggle to get the framerates to give a smooth experience even compared with Intels I3 CPUs.
The misconception for me is that you need that extra oomf for the games when in reality by the time you need it the games will probably be on 8+ cores anyway.
Now it's more like Bugatti Veyron vs Lamborghini Aventador. Sure Bugatti is faster but the Lambo is no slouch either.

My theory.

Somebody called Darmord at the bottom of page 1. Permabanned and message deleted. For all the toxicity that goes on in these forums sometimes, it had to have been bad to get dumped and booted.

Ah well, I'm sure repeating it would result in a ban so I shan't ask again :D

*********INTEL**********

My basket at overclockers uk:

Total: £486.07 (includes shipping: £11.10)

PLUS £600 for a 8 core 16 thread CPU

= £1086 for a motherboard/cpu/ram/cooler bundle!!!

********AMD**********
My basket at overclockers uk:

Total: £605.47 (includes shipping: £10.50)

Comes with a cooler

= £605 for a motherboard/cpu/ram/cooler bundle

Just about says it all really £450 difference. That's a new GPU cost!

No one I know is even wanting i3 CPUs at the moment - I've been asked to build a few AMD systems lately.

I posted that as I'd read 2/3's of the way through Sept that the i3 was 180 quid...a few weeks later and it's 210 quid, madness.
