Best value processor for HD video editing and photo processing?

possable option, use a nvidia gpu cuda compattable and use badaboom as your encoder, very fast and much faster than cpu, but all depends on what type of video you are using and converting to

if you can give some idea of budget for the upgrade we can give you a better anwser :)

but if your system is very old (ie: no pci-e slots) then yes you will need to upgrade your board and cpu, i think if you want a little future proofing then amd keep there cpu sockets around longer than intel
