As the title poeple, mainly in West London if poss but not too fused

I know value and steak don't go together but cost of living and all that

Pay £20-30 quid for a dry aged ribeye from a good butcher and cook it at home. I know not what you asked, but you'll get a way better steak for your money that way and it's straight forward to cook beautifully. Save the restaurant meals for fancier cooking where your money is getting some effort from the chef.

I find Hawksmoor is good value for how good it is, but as above steak is 80% the quality of the meat and the cooking is relatively straightforward. It might be hard to achieve a restaurant quality crust at home but a good steak will still be a good steak.

Any of the Hawksmoor steakhouses.

Decent steak, but depends on how you define value. Very easy to get to £100 a head in there.

It’s very hard to find consistently good value steak in restaurants. Either the steak is expensive and good, or cheaper and less good. Obviously making it at home allows you to get better quality cuts for the same price, but that’s not really comparable.

Something a bit different in West London is Bodeans BBQ, but not steak as such. Not sure how they are now, but used to be a firm favourite of ours.

If Hawksmoor is considered value :)cry:) maybe Blacklock chop house? The menu is more interesting anyway.
He said best value, not the cheapest. Hawksmoor have always been great value whenever I've been. And £100 a head isn't too bad when you consider the crap you can get served in some places for nearly the same price, or sometimes more.

I wasn't super impressed with Hawksmoor honestly, especially for the cost. I'v had much better from independent places (not chains) for similar cost.
I agree. Been to the one in Manchester a few times and it's been OK but not great. The steaks can cross from nicely charred into burnt and they're not particularly tender or flavourful.

I go to the one in Manchester fairly regularly, and had an issue a few visits ago where they overcooked mine, but I just mentioned it to the waiter and was brought a new one out, in fact they refreshed the entire table and waved the entire steak, plus dessert off of the bill. Always going to be mistakes, but they're always super good at rectifying them I found. Ivy were real good at rectifying mistakes too when I went to the one in Winchester and the waitress threw a tray of drinks over me. Didn't have the steak there though, but it looked decent.

Isn't it the same business as Harvester?
They are owned by the same parent company, but day to day running is separate.
