Best voice comms software

mumble has a much better speach codec and was more responsive to hands free voice activation (to the point where u can pretty much use it all the time) than vent.

also the overlay is great.
 
Mumble.

I rent a Murmur server from Multiplay.

The best VOIP quality by miles and none to minimal voice lag compared to anything else I have used. If you ever get bad quality on Mumble, it is likely owing to a badly configured server or just high pings.

Saying that, any of them on a well configured/managed server and I would suspect they would be similiar.

We have a ping of 14 on our server and overall quality is EXCELLENT.

As allready mentioned, no need to push to talk either, very good setup options.

I've always thought vent is the best but I've been using mumble for the past couple of months and it's also pretty good. Would never go TS, always hated it when I would have a mix on CSS and some clans would only use TS.
 
Vent/TS3 - Won't go wrong with either

Its hard to believe that TS3 is from the same people that made that steaming pile of turd that is TS2, leagues better and a great feature set
 
I like vent best :) (once setup properly it seems ok)

mumble is ok but it messes up volumes with it's auto volume thing :(

mumble is cheaper tho, have seen 50man servers in the UK for free for 3months
 
Ive used TS, Vent and mumble. and out of all the 3 mumble by far is one of the best. Mate of mine just runs a mumble server from his home server and the quality is amazing. So much better than TS. I would say Vent is just a bit below mumble in terms of quality.

Out of the list provided i would personally go for Vent, but saying this i havnt tried TS3 yet.

*edit but yeah mumble is 4tw :)
 
We use Ventrilo in our clan. Sometimes it can be a bit laggy, but, a world better than Team Speak imho.
