Best way of transferring all of my stuff?

Hiya

My new PC arrives this week complete with two brand new 250GB hard drives. I currently have around 200GB's of stuff on my current drives, mainly my music collection but i'm just wondering what is going to be the best way of transferring all of this stuff onto my new PC?

I've never really done it before so am unsure of how to go about doing it. Am I correct in thinking that I could connect my IDE drives up to the system running SATA drives, transfer everything onto the new drives, disconnect and i'm away? Or am I missing something?

Cheers guys, just the sort of advice I needed.

Think i'll be putting them in the new system while I transfer everything over and then format/get rid.
