Best way to back up a Hard drive?

I have a failing drive and need to back it up. I only have a dvdrw, so is there a software solution that might make this proccess easier, rather than nero?

Is it your Raptor which is failing?

No its my maxtor 250gig failing and this is the replacement for the first one that died, this is a headache.
