Best way to boost Wireless in games

How far are you from your router?

Depends, have used loads of different setups over the years. I used to be about 5 metres away through 2 thick walls and a floor, and it was fine. What I'm saying is, if your wireless is working properly (as in, you're not so far away that signal strength is getting low) then you shouldn't really ever have an issue.

Where I'm at I usually get about 3 or 4 bars out of 5 signal strength and still have awful ping on online games. Could this signal strength cause this?

How can the monitor show thats its virgin and not me?

As far as I can tell it pings your router and creates a graph online like

ok as mentioned about if your sticking to wireless then thats no real problem, but interfearance is the main cause of issues. if your using 2.4ghz wifi which is most common then there are lots of sources of interfearance such as neighbouring access points, microwave ovens, and even your game pad if its wireless.

the trick is to see if you can switch over to the 5.8ghz band for wifi. wont cost you too much to get a 5.8ghz dongle. id recommend a setup from ubiquiti such as using 2 of these nanostation loco m5's : http://www.ubnt.com/nanostationm

now 5ghz band has less range but using the decent hardware in the link above will give you good directional links.

this switchover will cost you around 80 quid for the 2 access points.

this may be costly depending on your budget so if you cant stretch to that then the next best though would be to optimise your current wifi setup.
on the client which is your system you game on see if you can get a wifi card that allows external antenna connections, then you can mount directional antennas to help boost singal strength and reduce interfearance being picked up all around you with the standard omni-directional antennas.
