Hi Guys,

I currently have 2 x 7200.10 320GB in RAID0 for OS and games

I also have 2 x 7200.9 160GB in RAID1 for files I cannot afford to lose.

I believe that one of my 7200.10's is not performing correctly but I dont know whats the best way to check it. I am under the impression I cant check it whilst it is in an array, am I right in thinking this.

One last thing can someone who is a master in arranging HDD's tell me what would be the best arrangement for my HDD's.

Bearing in mind I play a lot of games and need back up for my essential files pictures, videos etc. I also want my OS to run at its optimum.

SeaGate SeaTools for windows checks drives to make sure they're working right. It should work fine with RAID as it opperates within windows. I'd advise you to close all other apps before running it and leave it overnight.

I have downloaded it but it starts with errors and does not detect my drives whatsoever.

It also states the software is 32bit on the download page

There is a DOS based version of the software, but there's a high chance it won't detect the RAID config. Is there any way that you perhaps could multi-partition the OS boot drive and put a copy of 2000 or XP along side to test the drives?

I have a copy of vista 32bit therefore i will install that and run seatools
gonna have to remove the raid though
