Best way to deal with slow puncture?

Just take it to Kwik Fit to be repaired for £20. You don't need to travel miles to a "specialist" tyre place for a simple tyre puncture repair.

Err yes it is unusual, if it's losing air then it's faulty, simple.

So you'd expect tyres to never lose any air? I've always checked my tyre preassures about once a month over various cars, bikes, vans and tyre changes. Most times they need a couple of PSI extra, nothing drastic but they do lose a little bit of air over time.

Either I've been indredibly unlucky and had dozens of new fitted tyres on different rims which all lost air or tyres do lose air over time.

Took it to a place today and they couldn't see anything piercing the tyre. Said it could likely be the bearings. It would have cost £12 but I need to order a locking nut thing.

They can also get my wheels refurbished for £100 quid a wheel as they are split rims. I might just do it.

I used a plumbers blow torch, you know the one they use to solder copper pipes, just locate the puncture, be gentle with the torch, then use a butter knife to make the perfect seal. Just imagine you're burning the top of a crème brûlée and you're half way there.

I had a front right going down often recently, turned out to be a small crack in the inside rim of the alloy. Managed to get the wheel welded for £10 and did the tyre removal/fitting myself. Some say ur not supposed to weld alloy but it worked, it balanced fine, the tyre's staying round.

Okay, there's no puncture... The wheels are so badly corroded that it's leaking from the rim. As they are split-rims they will be quite expensive to repair. I might just live with it for now until they all start leaking air. Then I'll just buy a new set of alloys from somewhere.

If it only starts getting noticeable enough to need (presumably) a top-up of air every month or so when getting petrol at the garage, check oil etc while you're at it. :)

It's not so much about having the money, it's that there might be the possibility of getting new alloys for cheaper. Hopefully ones that aren't two piece and famous for falling apart ;)
