Best way to extend???

Hi need some help, ive got a nipper on the way and need to move my gaming room into the loft. This being said i need a connection to the net so could do with the router being plugged in up there as that's were most of my kit will live.
Knowing that using an standard extension cable is a no brainer what would you guys suggest ?? Is there and alternative cable i can use to extend ?? is it easy to change the connection from my main phone line which runs to the top of the house then down ?? Cheers

If you want to move the router then just run some telephone cable and wire it in like you would any other extension? (ie in the back of your master socket).

A cheap IDC tool costs about 50p and a telephone socket isn't much more than that. Just connect 2 and 5 with the same colours on the back of each socket and away you go.
