best way to get DVi --->SCART on mac

Hi,

whats the best way to get DVI to SCART off a mac mini, adapter cable or some USB device?

Also i take it a 1.5ghz core solo with 512mb of ram would be ok for DVD,Divx, VLC playback onto a TV.

erm could do hdmi > dvi if you got a HDTV

want to play dvd's off the mac onto the tv hence DVI --> SCART

No, Dvi --> HDMI.

no not got a HDTV hence wanted DVI ---> SCART, unless it's not possible to use a mac mini with a scarted tv

You could use one of these combined with a s-video to scart converter. It will look hideous though

Do you have S-Video out? It'll be good enough for a TV, and most people use that (some fancy cards have component out)

The OP has a mini Mac - just to clarify, I think you need to buy the cable specified for the mini mac as I hear Apple have several types of 'mini-DVI' cable, which vary from one machine to another and are (apparently) not inter-operable. Check the 'review' comments on the apple store website - some very annoyed customers.

The Mac Mini needs the DVI to Video adaptor (not mini-DVI).

correct the drives in intel macs use encrypted firmware, G4 mini's don't.
