Around September/Oct last year I bought a high end PC and monitor from OcUK (£1,500) but it is way too overpowered for what I need it for.

So after some consideration I want to either sell or trade it for an iMac 27"

Do you guys have any suggestions the best way I should go about it?

Thanks

Drop OcUK a webnote and ask them to swap it for a 27" Core i7 iMac? . They're really nice like that.

Or better yet, sell your PC and buy something different with the cash? :p Why not gauge the response in Members' Market and see what you might need to put to the offered price to get what you want?

Never thought about using Members Market, good idea... although I don't have access to it.

I would prefer to avoid places like eBay.

And swapping it with ocUK for an iMac would be idea lol

Sell the pc and use the money to build a budget time machine, hopely with a budget of around £1000 you should be able to get one that is good enough to go back about 9 months, set the dial to the date you want (warning being such a budget time machine be careful as to not set it back further than 9 months as you might get frozen in time). It is then very important that you don't meet yourself so instead send yourself notes saying you must buy a imac instead of a pc then cut off your little toe and send it yourself (this means you mean business and hopefully doesn't count as meeting yourself), come back to normal time and you should have an imac, destroy the time machine (don't let it get into the wrong hands).

Prepare to be gutted about how much money you have lost, and will probably have to fork out a load more for an iMac :(

Must be a pain when you reset/lose your internet history with a username like that!

You meet all the requirements, you just haven't set up your trust account. I think you can just hit the 'trust' button next to a post and register for it.

Why would you want a Mac? Aside from the nice screen they're overpriced, rebadged fisher price etch-a-sketches.

Steve Jobs' lovechildren to the thread in 3... 2.... 1....

The iMac being aimed at people who decide on how good a machine is by the level of shine it generates once polished.

Unless you desperately need to release some money (buying an iMac will not do this) I suggest keeping your current machine and not having to replace it for a good 5 years.

Really can't see the logic in the OP.

I'm with Serpantine, I can't see the logic. You're aim seems to be to save money? But selling your PC and buying an iMac isn't the answer.

My aim isnt to save money

I like the iMac because it's more suited for what I do

It is all built in so no big case, less wires which I like, bigger viewing screen.

although my PC can do all the same things the iMac can, I just like these small differences.
