Just ordered a Yamaha RXV373 and a Panasonic TX-L42E6B.

Was looking and a bit surprised that the 360 doesn't have a dedicated Optical output without using the larger component output.

What the best way to hook this into everything?
My assumption is 360 HDMI to Receiver to output HDMI to TV?

HDMI to receiver, HDMI to TV.

You get picture and full surround sound.

Much more elegant than Component and then optical.

I was hoping that, bugger...need to order another cheap HDMI!

Cheers for the input.

Just get something long enough, nothing too expensive, think of it as a USB cable. I like braided ones but I have all sorts, from free ones, £0.99 ones to £7 ones. They all work the same.

I just checked, turns out I ordered 2x 5 meter ones...I think im covered!

You'll wonder why you haven't done this sooner....

I route everything to my amp, and then 1 cable to the TV. Then select what I want to watch/listen on the amp. Even re-label the amp's LCD display to say XBOX 360, APPLE TV instead of HDMI 1, HDMI 2.

Makes things easier.
