Best way to keep razor blades sharp?

Currently i have my razor in a cup in water, is this a good idea to keep the blades sharp or is there better ways?

Water has sharpening properties so don't be surprised if they become even sharper than they were when you first bought them.

i just....buy new ones? blades are rather cheap for a proper safety razor.

Get a double edged razor, you could use a razor a day and it would cost less than 10 pence.

Look up stropping. Not that I'd recommend it for cartridge razors mind you.

You can't keep razor blades sharp once you use them a few times.

Crush them up and make a curry with them? yum.

Serious answer: Don't rinse them under cold water straight after finishing your shave as the sudden temperature change can apparently cause the blade to warp very slightly. Rince them in warm water.

i seem to remember some stuff on this,

I think a lot of the time your razor is corroded and covered with scale thats why its blunt...

to keep it sharop longer it needs to be dried properly and NOT kept in a damp place (ie the bathroom)

- never tried it myself..
