Best way to prove my 1TB is dying?

Hi guys,

I've got 4x1TB disks running in a box, and i'm pretty sure that one of them is either completely dead or certainly very close.
I can write files across to it, but when i read them back it just gives errors.

So, given the size of the disks, what's the best way for me to prove that one (or more ) is dead enough for a warranty repair?

If there is a check that I can run on all disks, that would be great.

What sort of proof do i need to provide to Hitachi? Will they even care? Is it even worth the postage?

The disks are HDT721010SLA360.

thanks,
Stubbsy

I can replace the disk for £50. Do you know if I will have to pay postage to send the device to tiwan?
I'll run the disk checker tonight. I don't have a screen on the machine - it's only for VNC - so I'll have to rig something up to see its progress

Thought Hitachi still had their RMA in the Netherlands so you shouldn't have to send it to Taiwan from memory. Been a while since I've owned an IBM/Hitachi Drive so things may of changed.
